MAHA MOT & ATL - Premium Workshop Equipment

The MAHA range of workshop equipment is known throughout the world for its engineering standards and reliability. MAHA equipment is manufactured completely by MAHA in Germany and not rebadged or repainted. It is used by VOSA and over its 10 - 20 year lifecycle it will require very low maintenance and repair costs.

Recent projects where we have supplied MAHA Mot testing equipment are located in Penrith, Silloth, Ulverston, Whitehaven and Workington (four post class 7 pictured below).

EUROSYSTEM Safety Test Lane

An Automated test lane is considered standard equipment in most major dealership and is slowly but surely becoming the norm in the majority of testing stations. Maha is at the forefront of automated test technology and we are proud to be associated with them.
In times of extended maintenance intervals and declining repair demands it is imperitive that no earning potential be overlooked. Using the test lane as a tool, the scope of the repairs can be discussed and decided upon together with the customer. Urgently needed repairs can be documented clearly. The process establishes transparency and trust. When the vehicle is returned to the customer, the success of the repair can be documented in black and white.

The MAHA ATL can be configured to all workshop requirements, there is the option of three different types of lift, suspension tester and side slip tester. The ATL can also have a PC based headlamp aligner if required. Other options include play detectors to suit pit installations, Radio remote control on the play detector and Air operated jacking beam.
The MAHA ATL is manufactured in Germany completely by MAHA and not rebadged or repainted as most other ATL's, the test lanes are used by VOSA themselves. The MAHA ATL will not be the cheapest ATL on the market but over it's life cycle it will require very low maintenance and repair costs. A full maintenance contract covering parts and labour can be purchased to cover the equipment when the initial warranty has expired.

MAHA 4 POST MOT LIFT

MAHA (Maschinenbau Haldenwag) manufacture in Germany. They have a range of 4 post MOT Lifts, CARLIFT II for Class 4 and 7,they have capacities of 3.5 and 4.0t respectively.They can be fitted with hydraulic or pneumatic (air) play detectors for ATL lanes or one person testing, there is also the option of a wireless hand-held lamp for operating the play detectors.

The pneumatic play detector system has the play detector on the right hand platform, the hydraulic play detector has a flat plate on the left platform and a prism on the right platform. The prism block is lowerable for headlight testing.

MAHA IN GROUND MOT LIFTS

In-Ground Lifts, as can be seen in the photo, save valuable bay space and give unobstructed access to the vehicle.

MAHA In-Ground Lifts can be fitted with hydraulic play detectors for their EUROSYSTEM ATL Lanes.

The picture(right) shows two Class 7 lanes both with the facility to have shock absorber Testers fitted at a later date.

As an option, at time of installation, a rising floor can be fitted with most Maha in ground lifts, to fill the recess when the lift is raised.

MAHA SCISSOR MOT LIFTS

MAHA manufacture a large range of scissor lifts for MOT testing, for Class 4 and 7, Scissor in Scissor lifts are available and some are suitable for precision wheel alignment and can be fitted with rear slip plates as shown in the pictures below of the Duo Lift in use at Ulverston. This site shown below also has MAHA's shock absorber testing system and a side slip tester in use which can both be seen in front of the brake tester.

MAHA BRAKE TESTERS

Maha have manufactured over 53,000 Brake testers since 1969, the range covers vehicles from cars ,vans ,trucks and HGV. Most of the range can be ordered with a facility to test Class 1 & 2 (motorcycles)


IW 2 EUROSYSTEM

- Roller brake tester for cars, vans and light trucks up to 5t axle load

The IW 2 Eurosystem brake tester is the premium tester of the IW 2 series. With the EUROSYSTEM testing lane software based on Windows XP and an SQL database, it provides the user with endless possibilities. Whether 'only' needed as a brake tester, used as diagnostics reception or as control unit for the workshop processes. The IW 2 Eurosystem is the all rounder. LITE 3 OPERATION

Large and clear operational pad
The key for the headlight to be tested; high or low beam, fog light and day driving lights, can be directly selected on the pad. All keys and the display are spray-water protected and integrated in the operational pad.
Graphical Display
The headlight image can be evaluated without PC using the graphical display. The LCD display with its corresponding keys is also used for all additional functions with user-friendly menu guidance.
Battery Operation
The headlight tester is equipped with a rechargable battery and can be operated as a 'stand alone' unit. A plug-in power supply is included in standard delivery for recharging.

LITE 3 ADJUSTMENT AID

The unit is equipped with an 'acoustic setting mode',which functions as follows - the more the actual headlight position deviates from the target position, the slower the signal interval. If the actual position is re-adjusted in the direction of the target position, the signal intervals become shorter. As soon as the optimum setting position is reached, a continuous signal is heard.

LITE 3 PC CONNECTION

The LITE 3 headlight tester is designed with a communication interface for usage with a PC connection. The measurements results can be passed on to a computer via a RS232/USB or Bluetooth connection. The MAHA test software 'EUROSYSTEM' is especially well-suited for prccessing the measurement results. The data can be shown on the screen and then filed.

MAHA SIDE SLIP TESTER

The side-slip tester, model MINC, checks front and rear axle geometry within seconds. The test plate is installed flush-floor. It is pushed to the left or the right when the vehicle passes over it, depending on the vehicle's tracking. The deviation appears on a Digital Display or on a screen. In addition, too much positive or negative side-slip is shown on signal lamps or as graphics on the screen.

The operator recieves a quick evaluation of the vehicle's tracking (total, front- and rear axle) and can make a qualified decision about any required vehicle work, e.g. wheel alignment or otherwise.

Model MINC I is for cars up to 3t axle load and MINC II is suitable for Trucks up to 15T load.

The Maha side slip tester can be incorporated into the EUROSYSTEM package, the logical intergration into a test lane is then possible. The test results can be included on the complete print out of a vehicle's safety inspection.

Upgrades for existing MOT Stations to OPT(one person testing) and ATL (automated test lane) where possible.

New VOSA regulations have taken effect from 1st November 2009, there are some major changes in the amount of space needed for some of the test bays, both in length and height.
If you have previously not been able to apply for MOT testing station status or been unable to upgrade to ATL or one person testing because of the size of your building, we may now be able to help. Just give us a call to discuss if the changes benefit your situation.

ATL's - What are they?
A combination of electronically controlled or enhanced mechanical test equipment for MOT testing, providing the ability for one man operation.

KEY ADVANTAGES OF ATL's

One Man Operation - saves the cost of having a person sit in the car for approx 15 minutes while the under side inspection is carried out.

Faster Test - The ATL automatic programme will allow a faster test by running both rollers together when carrying out a brake test. The roller will automatically start when the vehicle is driven onto the rollers and will stop if the wheels lock or the vehicle is driven out of the rollers. There is probably a time saving of between 10 and 15 minutes compared to a test using the older basic equipment.

More Accurate test - The brake tester software and vehicle weighing system will calculate the pass/fail results and the Play detector will ensure all vehicles have the same standard of test.
